Autauga County tornado damage: Mobile home split by falling tree, injuries reported

Autauga County suffered catastrophic damage as a tornado touched down in the central Alabama county on Thursday, damaging mobile homes, toppling trees and reportedly injuring several people.

Thousands of county residents were without electricity as of 3:40 p.m. Thursday according to the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative’s outage map.

The tornado split a mobile home in half when a tree fell on the structure in Marburg:

A gas station was damaged, debris was strewn about and trees were toppled in Wadsworth:

On Highway 143, a mobile home was flipped upside down by the severe storms:

Injuries were reported in the Old Kingston area, although the extent of the injuries was immediately unclear, WSFA reported.

Autauga County Roads 57 and 62 also sustained heavy damage as power lines were brought down by the storm. CAEC implored residents to avoid the area:
