Authorities looking for driver involved in fatal Huntsville hit-and-run

North Alabama authorities are looking for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian Wednesday morning.

Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the incident happened at 5:35 a.m. on Indian Creek Road near Jones Street, about one mile north of Huntsville.

The pedestrian, Cyril A. Nembhard, 66, was fatally injured when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the crash left the area.

The vehicle’s make, model, and the driver is currently unknown, Bailey said.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
