Country music legend to appear on ‘The Price is Right’

He won’t be called to “come on down,” but if you watch “The Price is Right” on Tuesday you’ll see a giant of late-’80s and early-’90s country music in the audience.

It was revealed Monday that none other than Randy Travis paid a visit during the production of the episode that will air on Tuesday, Feb. 27. According to information provided by publicists working for Travis, he’s a big fan of the show and a regular watcher. When host Drew Carey heard that Travis would be in the Los Angeles area, he extended an invitation through a mutual friend, artist Jacob Tolliver.

While Travis did not compete, “he did have a front row seat to all the fun and excitement that day.” He got a show nametag, went backstage to see some of the games and took pictures on “Bidders’ Row.”

Travis had a run of chart-topping success in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and continued to work regularly until a 2013 stroke impacted his mobility and his voice. In 2019 he resumed limited touring.

On his TikTok account, Travis posted some highlights of the visit and said “I was honored to be in the audience of a show I watch almost every day – thanks Drew!”

“And we were honored to have you stop by!” replied the show’s official account.

“The Price is Right” airs at 10 a.m. Central time weekdays on CBS.
