2 wounded in separate afternoon shootings in Birmingham
Investigations are underway after two people were injured in separate shootings Monday afternoon in Birmingham.
The first happened at 2:30 p.m. outside the BP gas station in the 5100 block of Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard.
Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said a woman sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Her injuries are nothapp life-threatening.
It appears the woman’s boyfriend and another man got into an argument outside the store. One of them pulled a gun and fired a shot.
Both men fled the scene before police arrived.
The second shooting happened at 3:11 p.m. in the 4700 block of Second Avenue South.
Wade said that appeared to be a drive-by shooting.
A man was wounded but his injuries also are not believed to be life-threatening.
