Cam Newton involved in brawl at 7v7 tournament
Cam Newton doesn’t make highlight videos anymore with his passing and running as an NFL quarterback. But the former Auburn All-American went viral just the same on Sunday when he turned up in videos of a brawl at a 7v7 youth football tournament in Atlanta.
At an event sponsored by We Ball Sports at B.E.S.T. Academy in Atlanta, the distinctive figure of Newton could be seen mixing it up with combatants before being pulled away by staff members.

Social-media commenters marveled that Newton could be the middle of the melee without his hat every coming off.
Through his C1N organization, Newton has sponsored 7v7 youth football teams since 2011, his first season in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.
According to its website, C1N “focuses on developing young athletes’ skills in football by providing opportunities to compete at the highest level through 7v7 tournaments and other events. C1N’s mission is to create an environment that fosters growth and development on and off the field, helping young athletes achieve their goals in football and life.”
Newton has not played since the 2021 NFL season.
Newton won the 2010 Heisman Trophy when he led Auburn to an undefeated season and the BCS national championship.
After entering the NFL as the first pick in the 2011 draft, Newton spent 10 seasons with the Panthers and one with the New England Patriots.

Newton was a Pro Bowl selection in 2011, 2013 and 2015 and a first-team All-Pro pick in 2015.
