With basketball state semifinals starting on Monday, there are still four Birmingham-area girls teams contending for championships.
Birmingham’s BJCC Legacy Arena hosts semifinals Monday-Wednesday while Class 7A plays its semifinal contests on Thursday along with Class 1A boys and girls championships. Friday and Saturday features championship games for the remaining classes.
The Birmingham News Power 5 ranks the best girls basketball teams in the area regardless of class.
