6 people shot at Frisco City bonfire

Monroe County authorities are asking for the public’s help in an investigation into a shooting that left multiple people injured early Saturday during a bonfire in Frisco City.

Sheriff Tom Boatwright, in a Facebook post, said the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. at a bonfire on Snyder Avenue. Six people were shot with two listed in serious condition, according to authorities.

Boatwright said that his office is actively assisting Frisco City police at the scene, gathering evidence and conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

They are also requesting anyone with information to contact them immediately. All information provided will be treated confidentially, the sheriff’s department says.

The sheriff’s department says they will release more information as it becomes available.
