Pedestrian critical after being hit by car in Northport
A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car on McFarland Boulevard early Friday evening in Northport, police said.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday in the westbound lanes of the 3000 block of McFarland Boulevard, said Northport Police Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter.
An ambulance that responded to the scene found an accident involving a 2013 Ford Taurus that was traveling westbound when it struck the victim, only identified as a male pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken to Tuscaloosa DCH Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Carpenter said.
Northport police are investigating the accident. No criminal charges are pending as of Friday evening.
