The GOAT and the Voice of Alabama football are both history. Can the future hold a candle to the past?
Nick Saban and Eli Gold. Who knew these two would be so intertwined? Did Saban’s retirement grease the skids for Gold’s removal? “Hey, who needs to hang on to just one lonely ol’ Alabama football icon? Let’s clean the slate and build from scratch.” – I’m not sure that conversation ever happened, but that’s just because I don’t know nothing about anything. But maybe it did. Kinda seems like it.
Obviously, Saban and Gold are both beloved Alabama football Mount Rushmore figures. Nothing but love and respect for these two epic dudes will flow across this state for evermore.
Thanks, guys. Rock on. The Tide will keep rolling … (or will it?) … Roll Tide.
