Limestone Correctional Facility officer charged in connection with contraband case

A correctional officer with the Alabama Department of Corrections has been charged in connection with prison contraband.

The ADOC said Tia Monique Scott, 31, a correctional officer at Limestone Correctional Facility, has been placed on mandatory leave after being arrested on six counts of use of office for personal gain.

Scott was arrested Tuesday as a result of an investigation on a prison contraband incident at Donaldson Correctional Facility.

The incident involved Latransezon Malloy, an inmate serving sentences for murder and cocaine trafficking at Donaldson in Bessemer.

Scott was interviewed and transported to the Limestone County Jail for booking.
