An 11-year-old southeast Alabama boy reported missing Wednesday night has been found dead.

Ricky Zane Lawrence was last seen in his backyard in Geneva, in Geneva County, around 5:33 p.m. Wednesday, said the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, which issued an alert for him.

Authorities had said Zane could be living with a condition that impaired his judgment.

Geneva police on Thursday morning said Zane was found Thursday morning in a swimming pool near his home. The drowning appears to be accidental.

“We ask that you pray for the family, Zane’s friends and classmates, the staff at Mulkey Elementary, and for all the law enforcement and fire department personnel who have worked through the night hoping to reunite Zane with his family,’’ police said in a statement.
