Country singer, ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star compares Beyonce to dog

Beyoncé performing country music is like “a dog peeing on a tree” to mark its territory, according to former “Dukes of Hazzard” star and country singer John Schneider.

Schneider, who joined One America News Network, was talking about the online controversy after a Beyoncé fan claimed an Oklahoma radio station had refused to play the singer’s new country song, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” after it was specifically requested it. The station explained the record company had not yet formally serviced the song to country radio, per Taste of Country.

Schneider was asked about how the entertainment industry and “lefties” have to “seize every aspect” of culture.

“They’ve got to make their mark, just like a dog in a dog walk park,” Schneider said. “You know, every dog has to mark every tree, right? So that’s what’s going on here.”

Beyonce announced her upcoming country album, “Act II,” in a Verizon commercial during Super Bowl 58 on Sunday. She released two new songs: “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages.”

“Act II” is set for release on March 29.

Schneider said there is a difference between Beyonce branching out into country music and Shania Twain, who started in country music and moved into other genres.

“I know a little something about country music,” the actor said.

Schneider stared as Bo Duke on “The Dukes of Hazzard,” which ran from 1979 through 1985 on CBS. He started a country music career in 1981 with a release of a cover of Elvis Presley’s “It’s Now or Never.”
