Mobile man’s bond revoked after allegedly pouring hot water down kid’s throat
A Mobile man who was set to go on trial for allegedly shooting at his toddler and the child’s mother has had his bond revoked amid allegations he poured boiling hot water down one of his children’s throats, according to court documents.
Eugene Lamont Sneed, 22, “is a danger to himself and others,” Mobile County prosecutors said in arguing for Sneed’s bond to be revoked in the 2021 domestic violence case, which is scheduled for trial later this month.
On Oct. 2, Sneed was charged with aggravated child abuse after he allegedly “poured boiling hot water down the throat of another of his children … causing internal injuries to the child’s throat and lungs as well as multiple burns on the child’s face,” prosecutors wrote.
The child was identified as being 1 years old.
Mobile County Circuit Court Judge Brandy Hambright revoked Sneed’s bond on Friday, records showed.
On the domestic violence case, Sneed’s bond had been set at $25,000 for allegedly shooting at his then-1-year-old child and the child’s mother.
Mobile County Metro Jail records showed Sneed was jailed Friday on child abuse and domestic violence charges.
