The AHSAA regional basketball tournaments kick into full gear today.

After an abbreviated schedule at one regional on Tuesday, games will be played today at all four sites — Hanceville, Jacksonville State, Montgomery and Birmingham.

Both Hoover teams will e in action in the Northwest Regional in Hanceville as they begin their quests to repeat as state champs. The girls take on James Clemens at noon, while the boys battle Austin at 1:30 p.m. in what could be one of the day’s most intriguing games.
