Man drives into Tuscaloosa County ditch, dies when he is thrown from truck
An Oakman man was killed in a single-vehicle accident in Tuscaloosa County.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the fatality victim as Robert D. Odom. He was 53.
Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett said the crash happened in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 11 on Alabama 69 near the 158-mile marker, approximately five miles north of Northport.
Odom was fatally injured when the 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a ditch. Odom, not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing by troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division.
