Former Alabama back wins Angry Run of the Year honor

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris took home the golden scepter for the Angry Run of the Year in the NFL for the 2023 season.

Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” program selects an angry run in the NFL weekly during the season. At the NFL Honors awards ceremony on Thursday night, Brandt chose an Angry Run of the Year from those weekly winners.

Harris won for an 8-yard run during the fourth quarter of the Steelers’ 30-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 31. On the rushing attempt, Harris stiff-armed Seattle cornerback Riq Woolen into the turf.

Harris finished the game with 122 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries.

In his third season since joining Pittsburgh as a first-round draft pick from Alabama, Harris ran for 1,035 yards and eight touchdowns on 255 carries and caught 29 passes for 170 yards.

Harris became the 18th player in NFL history to run for 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons.
