An early morning car crash killed a man in Cleburne County on Saturday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Wesley S. Ballew, 22, of Fruithurst, suffered fatal injuries when his car left the road, hit an embankment and flipped, according to a news release from state troopers. The crash happened about eight miles north of Fruithurst on Cleburne County Road 14 at approximately 4:42 a.m.

Ballew was not using his seatbelt and was ejected from his Honda Accord, the release said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
