Basketball roundup: Hazel Green girls whip Hoover
In the latest clash of Alabama girls’ basketball titans, Hazel Green avenged a rare in-state loss on Tuesday with a 53-32 rout of Hoover at Hazel Green.
The Trojans had lost three times in the past four seasons to Hoover, including 40-29 on Dec. 28. The Bucs also beat Hazel Green 52-38 in Hoover on Jan. 31, 2023, to end the Trojans’ state record 87-game winning streak.
Six-time defending state champion and No. 1-ranked Class 6A Hazel Green used a huge second quarter to put the game out of reach on Tuesday. After taking a 12-4 lead in the first period, the Trojans outscored the visitors 15-4 in the second quarter to carry a 27-8 edge into halftime. Hazel Green led 38-14 headed into the fourth.
“The game was intense like a playoff game,” said Hazel Green head coach Tim Miller. “I thought our team played hard and together. We had some good practices leading up to the game.”
The win was the ninth in a row for Hazel Green, now 23-4 on the year. It pushed Miller’s record at the Madison County school to 359-32. His career mark is 744-103.
University of Alabama signee Leah Brooks led Hazel Green with 17 points, 8 rebounds with 2 steals. Amiya Redus, who has signed with Shorter University, scored 12 points in the win. Sophomore Kristen Johnson scored 10 points and had 3 assists.
Hoover, the two-time defending Class 7A state champ, dropped to 20-7 on the season. Kaitlyn Gipson led Hoover with 16 points.
“It was a tough matchup in a tough environment,” said Hoover coach Krystle Johnson, “but we got a chance to learn. Our team has continuously been challenged all season.”
Johnson, who coached at Huntsville from 2012-16 before coming back to her alma mater, is 345-65 as a head coach.

Jackson 50, Blount 42
Tyra Caves had 17 points and 3 rebounds as the Class 4A No. 4 Aggies rebounded from an early week loss to T.R. Miller.
Jazmine Jones added 14 points and 6 rebounds and Angel Powell had 14 points and 8 rebounds as Jackson improved to 26-3.
The Aggies lost at T.R. Miller 37-29 on Monday.
UMS-Wright 64, St. Paul’s 45
The No. 9 Class 4A Bulldogs avenged an early season loss to Old Shell Road rival St. Paul’s with the runaway win on the road Wednesday. In December, St. Paul’s beat UMS-Wright 45-39 at UMS.
UMS senior Amelia Meador was perfect on her five 3-point bucket attempts on the way to a game-high 17 points on Wednesday. Junior Ellie Mostellar scored 14 in the win. Senior Noel Freeman and Ansleigh Ishee finished with 10 points each.
Fancy Malone led St. Paul’s with 13 points.
UMS-Wright (23-6) will host the Area 1 tournament on Monday.
On Senior Night Monday, UMS-Wright whipped Faith Academy 57-26, outscoring the Rams 20-3 in the third quarter after leading by 2 at the half.
UMS-Wright was led by Freeman’s 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Daphne 70, St. Luke’s 41
La’Merrica Johnson scored 23 points, eclipsing the 1,000-point plateau for her career, as the Class 7A No. 7 Trojans improved to 20-3. Johnson also had 5 rebounds.
Kiera Watson chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds and Abby Johnson had 15 points and 6 assists.
Davidson 51, Murphy 42
Andinique Washington hit five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points as the sixth-ranked Class 7A Warriors finished the regular season at 24-6.
Jenice Adjessom had 11 points, 7 steals, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for Davidson. Carson Dozier also scored 11. Murphy’s Anijah Anderson scored 15.
Adjessom had 25 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals and 6 assists on Friday in a 57-26 win over Mary G. Montgomery.
Alma Bryant 76, Spanish Fort 59
The Hurricanes ran their record to 18-9 with the home win on Thursday.
Sophomore Madi-Marie Grayson scored a career-high 43 points to lead Alma Bryant. Her twin, Mari-Margret Grayson, scored 18 in the win.
Alma Bryant closes out the regular season on Friday at Saraland before playing Mary G. Montgomery on Monday in the Class 7A, Area 1 tournament at Davidson.
On Tuesday, Alma Bryant completed a season sweep of Mary Montgomery with a 61-50 home win. The win gave the Hurricanes a 4-2 Area 1 record.
Madi-Marie Grayson poured in 29 points to lead the winners. Mari-Margret Grayson added 15.
Gulf Shores 68, Bayside Academy 42
Brian Sexton picked up his 100th win as head coach at Gulf Shores with the win on Thursday at Bayside Academy. Sexton has led the Dolphins for five seasons.
Gulf Shores led 14-13 after one quarter, 31-23 at the half and 44-31 headed into the final period.
Keyona Royal led the Dolphins with 19 points and 13 rebounds – nine on the offensive boards. Maggie Myers scored 19 points with five 3-point buckets.
Kate Cimino and Alyssa Thompson scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Misty Kate Smith led Bayside with 15 points.
On Tuesday, Gulf Shores whipped Class 5A, Area 1 foe Williamson 47-11, racing to a 27-0 first-half lead.
Royal led Gulf Shores with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Maya Griffin added 10 points with 3 steals.

Hoover 49, Homewood 33
The Bucs jumped to an 11-1 first-quarter lead, led 28-8 at the half and coasted past Homewood on Senior Night on Monday.
Layla Cannon led Hoover with 12 points in the win.
Ava Robinson scored 9 for Homewood.
Hewitt-Trussville 81, Hueytown 23
Freshman Ryleigh Martin poured in 27 points to lead Hewitt-Trussville to a Senior Night win over Hueytown on Tuesday.
Senior Jordan Hunter, an Auburn signee, recorded a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Huskies.
Homewood 53, Talladega 39
The Patriots closed out the regular season at 23-6 with the win at Talladega on Thursday.
Seniors Kayla Warren and Mira McCool led Homewood with 15 and 13 points, respectively. McCool also grabbed 10 rebounds. Junior Ava Robinson scored 12 points in the win.
On Tuesday, Homewood beat Bibb County (22-3) 52-42. Laine Litton led Homewood with 20 points. Ellis McCool added 14 in the win.
Clay-Chalkville 52, Mountain Brook 48
The Cougars slipped past Mountain Brook on the road on Monday.
Avery Davis led the Spartans with 15 points. Libby Geisler added 12 for Mountain Brook (17-9).
Parker 62, Minor 41
The Thundering Herd picked up the home win on Tuesday to improve to 17-6 on the season.
Taniya Smith and Alteona Plump led Parker with 14 points each. Smith also had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and a pair of assists. Plump grabbed 7 rebounds and had 3 steals. Otiscia Towns scored 12 points with 6 steals and 2 assists.

Briarwood closed out the regular season at 17-9 with the home win on Tuesday. Emma Kerley scored 15 points with 6 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.

The Rockets improved to 15-10 on the year with a win over Leeds on Thursday. Layla Berry poured in 27 points for Gardendale.

On Monday, Gardendale beat John Carroll 69-42. Berry scored 29 points with 9 rebounds and 8 steals. McKenzie McAnnally scored 13 points and Jones added 10. DaVonna Everette made 10 steals on the night.

The Class 7A No. 3 Rebels improved to 24-4 on the year with the home win on Monday.
Sarah Gordon led Vestavia Hills with 27 points.

Sparkman 67, Huntsville 30
The second-ranked Senators improved to 19-7 overall and 6-0 in Class 7A, Area 7 with the win on Tuesday. Sparkman raced to a 22-0 first-quarter lead in the Senior Night rout.
Abethany James led all scorers with 13 points to eclipse the 1,000-point mark for her career. Jamya Griffin added 12 points as 10 Senators scored on the night.
Sparkman will play Albertville in the opening round of the area tournament at home on Monday.
Sand Rock 66, Hokes Bluff 41
The Class 2A No. 8 Wildcats rolled to the road win on Thursday, with Katelyn St.Clair pouring in 29 points and claiming 9 rebounds. Sand Rock improved to 22-7 on the season.
Kennedy Henderson scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for Sand Rock.
The Wildcats host the Area 12 tournament beginning Saturday, playing Gaston.
On Tuesday, Sand Rock whipped Sylvania 82-54 on Senior Night.

The Wildcats closed out Class 4A, Area 15 play with the win over city rival Randolph on Tuesday.
Westminster forced 22 turnovers and held Randolph to 34 percent shooting from the field. The Wildcats out-rebounded the Raiders 29-18.
Sophomore Angel Nelson scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds for Westminster Christian (4-17). Junior Ella Anderson added 8 points with 9 rebounds.

The Bulldogs improved to 16-11 on the season with the road win on Thursday.

Lakeside 49, Hooper Academy 42 (OT)
Lakeside advanced to the AISA Elite 8 with the win on Monday – the 37th time in Alabama Independent Schools Association Hall of Fame member Ricky Ward’s 39 years as a coach to make the final eight of the tournament. Ward has 790 wins in his career.
Sophie Seaborn hit a bucket to tie the game at 40 in regulation.
Chloe Helms led Lakeside with 26 points. She also had 6 assists and 3 steals. Addy Helms scored 11 points with 6 steals and 5 assists. Addysen Eriksen grabbed 5 rebounds and blocked 2 shots for the Chiefs (11-12).
St. James 57, Pike Road 46
The Trojans, ranked fifth in Class 3A, improved to 22-5 on the season with the home win on Wednesday.
Natalie Barton scored 18 points to lead St. James. She also had 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Ava Card and Kaitlin Mitchell scored 17 points each. Card had 4 rebounds and 4 assists while Mitchell grabbed 7 rebounds. Morgan Lilly dished out 6 assists in the win.

Trinity earned the home win over Class 4A No. 1 Prattville Christian on Tuesday.

Second-ranked Prattville Christian lost its second straight on Thursday at St. James, despite two school records set on the night by Avery Rogers. Rogers became the PCA all-time leader with 620 career assists and 428 steals. Ella Jane Connell had 614 assists and CoCo Thomas had 427 steals for the Panthers.
Kayden Carr led Prattville Christian with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Rogers had 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Leah cate Wilson grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.

The fifth-ranked Class 7A Rebels closed out their regular season at 21-5 with the home win over 6A No. 2 Mountain Brook on Thursday.
Jordan Ross recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Vestavia Hills. Jackson Weaver finished with 10 for the winners.

The fourth-ranked Class 7A Bucs closed out the regular season at 24-3 with the road win over city rival Spain Park on Thursday. Hoover jumped to a 19-8 first-quarter lead and was up 28-20 at the half. The Bucs carried a 37-33 edge into the final quarter.
DeWayne Brown led Hoover with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocked shots. Salim London scored 13 points and had 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Jarett Fairley scored 13.
Hoover hosts the Area 5 tournament and will play Tuscaloosa County on opening night Tuesday at 5:30.
On Monday, Hoover whipped Homewood 60-36 on Senior Night. The Bucs led 17-5 after one quarter, 33-16 at the half and 49-22 headed into the fourth period.

Evangel picked up a first-round AISA Class A state tournament win as Tylon Shine pitched in 19 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 2 assists.
Jordan Duncan scored 9 points with 4 steals and 3 assists while Quendarius Rudolph and Will McCord added 7 points apiece. Rudolph had 9 rebounds with 3 steals and 2 assists.
The Lions (13-10) will travel to Lowndes Academy on Friday for a second-round game.

The Tigers improved to 19-8 with the win on Tuesday at Parker.

Peyton Wiggins scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Huffman in the loss on Tuesday at Class 5A No. 1 Fairfield. Kevon Walker scored 11 for Huffman.

The Rams used a balanced attack to pick up the road win on Thursday.

The Lions (17-12) knocked down 18 3-point shots in the home win on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Gadsden City beat Briarwood 60-55 at Briarwood. Mears scored 32 points and had 4 rebounds for the Lions. Garrett Witherington grabbed 11 rebounds in the loss.

The Rebels rolled past Monroe Academy in the AISA AAA regional semifinals on Thursday to improve to 21-1 on the season.

On Tuesday, Bessemer beat Morgan Academy 77-48. Jeter scored 17 while Winston and Joshua Thompson had 12 each.

Austin 76, Hartselle 59
The second-ranked Class 7A Black Bears jumped to a 37-24 halftime lead on the way to the road win over Hartselle on Tuesday.
Jordan Johnson led Austin with 25 points – 14 in the second half. Harry Malone pitched in 23 with 14 in the first half and three 3-pointers on the night. Isaiah Fuller scored 13 for the Black Bears.
Ty Odom led Hartselle with 16 points, 14 in the first half with four 3-pointers. Rylan Smothers scored 14 for the Tigers with Kohl Key adding 13 and Brayden Thomas scoring 12.
On Monday, Austin rallied from a 1-point halftime deficit to roll to a 85-59 home win over Fairview. The Black Bears outscored Fairview 23-7 in the fourth quarter.
Austin led 22-14 after one quarter, but trailed 38-37 at the break. The Black Bears outscored Fairview 25-14 in the third period to lead 62-52 headed into the final quarter. Nine of 10 Austin players scored in the win.
Johnson poured in 32 points to lead Austin, scoring 11 in the fourth period while hitting three 3-pointers in the opening half. Johnson also had 8 rebounds for the Bears. Jaxson Potter scored 12. Fuller and Malone added 9 points apiece in the win. Fuller finished with 4 assists.
Blake Rickard led Fairview with 19 points – 14 in the first half. Landun Smith scored 16 for the Aggies with 9 in the second period.
Hartselle 40, Athens 37
The Tigers rallied in the fourth quarter to pick up the home win on Thursday. Hartselle trailed 30-27 headed into the final period, after leading 16-5 following the first quarter and 22-15 at the half.
Ty Odom led Hartselle with 16 points – 9 in the fourth period. He had a pair of 3-pointers in the game, one in the opening quarter and one in the fourth. Rylan Smothers scored 9 points in the win.
Saylor Bright led Athens with 11 points.
On Monday, Hartselle beat Jasper 69-58 at home. The Tigers jumped to a 20-10 first-quarter lead and carried a 38-25 advantage at the half.
Odom led Hartselle with 20 points with 9 in the fourth quarter. Odom hit four 3-pointers on the night. Kohl Key and Brayden Thomas scored 11 points apiece for the Tigers. Markus Tapscott scored 10 and Smothers added 9 for Hartselle.
Braylen Johnson led Jasper with 12 points – 9 in the second half. Caden Steiner scored 11 for the Vikings with three 3-pointers in the second half.
Huntsville 76, Geraldine 55
The No. 1 Class 7A Panthers rolled over Class 3A, No. 5 Geraldine on Senior Night on Thursday, improving to 28-2 on the year.
The Bulldogs led Huntsville 21-16 after one quarter before the Panthers rallied to lead 33-29 at the half. Huntsville outscored the visitors 43-26 in the second half.
Caleb Harrison led Huntsville with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Simon Walker pitched in 17 points and Josh Bowman scored 12 with 7 rebounds in the win. Merik McCartney scored 11 for Huntsville while JD Gossett had 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
Connor Johnson led all scorers with 25 points for Geraldine (19-7). Redick Smith added 12.
On Tuesday, the Crimson Panthers rebounded from their second loss of the season on Monday with a 71-36 rout on the road of Class 7A, Area 7 foe Sparkman. Huntsville finished area play at 6-0 and will meet the Senators again in the opening round of the area tournament at Huntsville at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Grissom plays Albertville in the second game at 7:30.
Huntsville got 36 points off the bench with nine players logging more than 13 minutes each in the win on Tuesday.
Huntsville blew open an 11-10 first-quarter lead to carry a 33-16 advantage into the locker room at the half. The Panthers’ full-court pressure amped up the offense as Huntsville led 53-26 headed into the final period.
Junior guard Gossett led Huntsville with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 steals. Junior Bowman came off the bench to score 13 points and grab 7 rebounds. LaMaurian Baker scored 10 points. Harrison added 8 points and 5 rebounds in limited action.

MJ Robinson knocked down a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Patriots to the road win at Madison Academy on Tuesday.
Eric Marrow led Bob Jones with 17 points. Kaden Rickard scored 8 and Robinson had 7.
Michael Stanford led Class 5A, No. 6 Madison Academy with 12 points. Jaylen Blackwell scored 10.
St. John Paul II 72, Oakwood Adventist 61
The Falcons closed out the regular season with the home win on Thursday.
Jaeden Harris led St. John Paul II with 26 points. Austin Porter scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Mark Andrzejewski scored 12 in the win and Tyler Greges added 9.
On Tuesday, SJP2 beat West Morgan 79-52 in another home game. Jackson Holland scored a career-high 18 points to lead the Falcons.
Greges also scored 18 for St. John Paul while Andrzejewski added 12 points.
St. John Paul II will play Westminster Christian on Tuesday at home in the first round of the Class 4A, Area 15 tournament.

Vigor 53, Fairhope 51
Terrel Johnson scored 25 points on Tuesday as Class 5A No. 4 Vigor held off Class 7A No. 9 Fairhope at home.
Keke Malone added 8 points for the Wolves (22-6).
“Tonight was a really hard, physical game,” Vigor coach Jairus Jackson said. “This was like a heavyweight fight where the scores are going back and forth. Terrel stepped up and carried us. We were glad to end the regular season on a high note.”
McRae Taul scored 20 points and Alabama commit Spence Sims added 19 for the Pirates (20-5). Starting forward Jackson Gulley missed the game due to illness.
Theodore 52, Biloxi 41
The Bobcats (17-11) knocked off visiting Biloxi, Miss., on Thursday.
Houston Cunningham scored 11 points and Walter Cobb had 10 to lead the Bobcats.
Theodore will play at B.C. Rain on Friday.
On Tuesday, Theodore beat McGill-Toolen 45-39, snapping the visiting Class 6A, No. 5 Bulldogs’ 10-game winning streak. Cunningham led Theodore with 16 points.
Theodore led by 6 points late in the fourth quarter before two free throws from McGill’s JP McDonald closed the gap to 4. Theodore’s Michael Myles hit 1-of-2 free throws before a Jack Murphy 3-pointer trimmed the lead to 39-37 with 32 seconds left. Cunningham iced the game with 6 free throws down the stretch.
Murphy scored 7 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter for the Jackets (21-6).
McGill-Toolen 63, Faith Academy 34
Class 6A No. 5 McGill-Toolen rolled to the road win on Thursday at Faith Academy, holding the Rams to just 2 points – on a pair of free throws – in the third quarter.
Kellen Thompson scored a career-high 17 points for the Yellow Jackets, hitting 8-of-11 from the floor with 9 second-quarter points to help McGill to a 33-23 halftime lead.
Faith didn’t record its first field goal of the second half until a 3-pointer with 6:48 left in the game.
Ethan Stokes led McGill-Toolen with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Owen Norwood finished with 10 points.
Treat Sellers led Faith Academy with 9 points.
The Yellow Jackets close out the regular season at 22-6 with the top seed in Area 2. McGill-Toolen will host the area tournament beginning Monday and play Robertsdale at 6:30 p.m. No. 2 seed Baldwin County plays No. 3 Spanish Fort at 8 p.m.
Mary G. Montgomery 71, Alma Bryant 22
Jeremiah Bolton scored 20 points as Class 7A No. 7 Mary G. Montgomery improved to 22-4 overall.
Zion Hunter followed with 11 and Jaylen Gray had 10.
Jackson 51, Blount 41
Keeyun Chapman had 21 points and 11 rebounds as Class 4A No. 1 Jackson finished the regular season with a win.
Micah Caster added 18 points for the 22-2 Aggies.
Jackson defeated T.R. Miller 52-44 on Monday night as Caster scored 23 and Chapman had 12.
Williamson 63, Gulf Shores 49
Mikel Bonner had 18 points, 16 rebounds and a pair of blocks as Class 5A No. 3 Williamson won on the road to finish area play at 6-0. The Lions are now 21-6 overall.
Corien Coleman followed with 16 points and 3 steals, while Johnathan Johnson had 15 points and 7 rebounds.
Robertsdale 52, Chickasaw 49
Robertsdale rallied in the fourth quarter to earn the home win on Thursday, outscoring Chickasaw 17-9 in the final period after trailing 40-35 headed into the quarter. Robertsdale led 27-26 at the half after trailing 14-10 following one quarter.
Tanner Williams led the Golden Bears with 19 points. Gabe Stevens scored 13 and Kole Singler added 11 for Robertsdale.
Marvin Brooks led Chickasaw (17-8) with 15 points. Sydrus Gilmore scored 12 and JaVon Mose had 10.
Robertsdale (12-16) plays No. 5 McGill-Toolen in the Class 6A, Area 2 tournament on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at McGill.
Baker 66, Cottage Hill 58
The Hornets rallied past Cottage Hill at home on Thursday. Baker trailed 22-16 after one period before taking a 34-29 halftime lead. The Hornets were up 52-44 headed into the fourth quarter.
Derrick Florence led Baker with 23 points. Desmon Williams scored 17 in the win with Lovalle Nelson adding 13.
Shadrick Toodle led Cottage Hill with 19 points. Clay Scofield scored 11 and Kaden Washam and Shadarius Toodle scored 10 apiece.
Sixth-ranked Class 7A Baker (22-7, 6-0 in Area 1) will host the area tournament on Tuesday, playing Alma Bryant at 5:30 p.m. Second-seeded Mary Montgomery will play No. 3 Davidson at 7.
Chickasaw 63, Satsuma 40
Chickasaw, ranked ninth in Class 2A, improved to 18-7 with a 63-40 win over Satsuma.
The Chieftains used balanced scoring as seven players scored 7 or more points.
Citronelle 59, Robertsdale 45
Citronelle raced to a 21-7 first-quarter lead on the way to the home win on Monday.
Brycen Rivers led the Wildcats with 19 points, 11 in the second half. He also grabbed 8 rebounds. Justin Adams scored 8 points and had 6 assists for Citronelle.

Montgomery Academy 61, Wetumpka 57
The Eagles, ranked No. 10 in Class 3A, outscored Wetumpka 21-14 in the third period to carry a 7-point lead into the final quarter of the win on Tuesday. Montgomery Academy was able to hold off Wetumpka, despite being outscored 19-16 in the period.
MA finished 21-7 on the regular season, winning nine of its last 10 games.
Skyler Stovall led MA with 19 points, 10 rebounds with 3 assists. DJ Vinson also had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds to go with 4 blocks and 2 assists. Brewer Welch scored 14 points with 7 assists, 6 steals and 5 rebounds. Seth Edwards grabbed 8 rebounds and had 5 assists.
Montgomery Academy opens Area 6 tournament play at home against St. James on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Montgomery Academy 68, Prattville Christian 33
The Eagles had 10 players to score and held Prattville Christian to less than 10 points in every period in the Monday win. Montgomery Academy led 32-16 at the half.
Skyler Stovall led MA with 26 points. He also had 10 rebounds, 7 steals and 5 assists. DJ Vinson dominated the board with 15 rebounds to go with his 9 points and 2 blocked shots.
Cole Caddell scored 8 points and had 5 rebounds. Seth Edwards had 7 rebounds and Brewer Welch had 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
Prattville Christian 38, St. James 35
The Panthers got the road win at St. James on Thursday to finish the regular season at 15-14.
Collier Connell led Prattville Christian with 12 points and 4 rebounds. Cade Segars scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Brady Roberson had 6 rebounds and PJ Evans had 5.
PCA travels to Wilcox Central to play Dallas County in the 4A, Area 5 tournament on Monday.
On Tuesday, Prattville Christian beat Trinity 56-29 on the road. Evans recorded a double-double in the win, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Connell scored 11 for Prattville Christian. Justin Chapman grabbed 8 rebounds and Roberson had 7.
Georgiana 58, Luverne 49
The second-ranked Class 1A Panthers improved to 21-3 with the home win on Tuesday.
Kaveon Miles and Jaden Stallworth recorded double-doubles for Georgiana. Miles scored 15 points with 11 rebounds and 6 steals. Stallworth finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Jacobie Morgan also scored 13 for the Panthers.
Autauga Academy 54, Lakeside 48
Autauga Academy downed Lakeside on Tuesday in the AISA playoffs.
Rhodes Bennett led Lakeside with 15 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Jamez Curry scored 13 in the loss with 4 steals and 3 rebounds. Kaleb Moore also scored 13 and grabbed 5 rebounds. JJ Hill had 6 rebounds with 4 assists. Darren Madrie finished with 5 assists and 2 steals.
Lee-Scott 60, Valiant Cross 57
Lee-Scott avenged two regular-season losses with the win in the AISA regional tournament on Thursday.
Deshawn Hall led Valiant Cross with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocked shots and 4 steals.
Valiant Cross plays Springwood School on Friday.
Stanhope Elmore 80, Prattville 69
The Mustangs rallied from a 45-33 halftime deficit to knock off Prattville on Tuesday. Stanhope Elmore outscored the Lions 27-13 in the third period and 20-9 in the fourth quarter.
Ty Bryant led Prattville with 24 points. Xavier Dunn and Evan Chandler scored 12 points apiece for the Lions.
