One killed, another injured in Huntsville stabbing; suspect in custody

A person was killed and another was injured following a stabbing late Thursday afternoon in Huntsville, police said.

The stabbing occurred just before 5 p.m. in the 400 block of Mountain Gap Road, police said.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not released because their next of kin was not yet notified of their death.

The second victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but police said that victim is now expected to survive the stabbing.

A suspect was taken into custody near the scene and is being interviewed by investigators.

The investigation was ongoing and further information was unavailable.
