Post Office Pies is closing its Birmingham location after a decade in Avondale but will keep serving pizza in Mountain Brook, the business announced Thursday.

The Avondale location, at 209 41st St. South, will serve its last patrons on Sunday.

“Whether you dined with us each week, or you stopped by for a pie before a show, we are forever grateful for your support of our flagship location,” Post Office Pies said on its Facebook page.

“Thank you for all the memories you helped create,” the pizzeria said. “And thank you to our staff (present and all of those along the way) who made this place run. While we are sad to say goodbye to Avondale, we invite you to join us in Mountain Brook as we continue our journey.”

Post Office Pies encouraged patrons to visit the Avondale location until Sunday “and send us off in style!”
