Fisher-Price infant sleeper recall: At least 100 deaths linked to Rock ‘n Play

Fisher-Price has re-announced a recall of some 4.7 million infant sleepers that have been linked to at least 100 deaths.

This is the second recall of Rock ‘n Play Sleepers sold nationwide through retailers such as Walmart, Target and Amazon. The original recall took place in April 2019 and came after 30 fatalities were reported when infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced. Some 70 additional fatalities were then reported, including eight that occurred after the initial recall.

“Approximately 100 deaths have reportedly occurred while infants were in the products. Fisher-Price notes that in some of the reports, it has been unable to confirm the circumstances of the incidents or that the product was a Rock ‘n Play Sleeper,” CPSC said in a statement.

Consumers are advised to stop using the Rock ‘n Play immediately and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher.
