Auburn football fan guide for road game against Georgia

The Auburn Tigers head to Athens Saturday to take on the defending national champions on their turf, where AU hasn’t won in 17 years.

Following a tough home loss to LSU last week, the 3-2 Tigers can shock the college football world with an improbable win over Georgia, which actually seems less improbable after the Bulldogs showed they are far from invincible against Missouri a week ago.

Here’s what you can expect in Georgia this Saturday, with information from the helpful GeorgiaDogs.com gameday website.

THE GAME!

Auburn suffered a tough loss to LSU last week, their second of the season, as the Bryan Harsin saga continues. The fate of the second-year coach hangs in the balance, and an upset victory over the defending national champs would go a long way in either saving his job or prolonging any changes to its status.

The Bulldogs showed their first signs of weakness on the road against Missouri last week, escaping with an unlikely 26-22 win over those Tigers. Will Kirby Smart’s squad right the ship and restore their dominance when Auburn visits Athens on Saturday?

The Tigers haven’t won in Athens since 2005, so they’re due to upset the Dawgs, but that’s obviously easier said than done. Auburn’s defense has shown signs of improvement, but can they stop Stetson Bennett on enough drives to give the offense a chance?
