Alabama basketball suspends Nick Pringle for 2nd time this season, per ESPN

Alabama forward Nick Pringle did not travel to Athens, Ga., as the No. 24 Crimson Tide (14-6, 6-1 SEC) visited Georgia.

According to the ESPN broadcast, Pringle was suspended for “conduct detrimental to the team.” It is the second time this season that Pringle has been disciplined.

“Nothing serious off the court or anything, just in-house. There’s a standard we want our guys to uphold, and he wasn’t upholding it. I still love Nick, and hopefully, he can get himself figured out with the team shortly,” Oats said on Dec. 1.

Pringle ultimately missed one game, a blowout win over Arkansas State. Oats said he and Pringle “talked through it.” Pringle, in his second year with the Tide, was expected to make a jump to the starting lineup as UA replaced 80% of its first five from last season. Pringle has played sporadically through SEC play, totaling 10 or fewer minutes in three of the Tide’s seven contests.

Pringle is averaging 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 15.8 minutes per game. He came to Tuscaloosa after a stint at Wofford and Dodge City Community College.
