A Lauderdale County sheriff’s deputy is on paid leave pending an internal affairs investigation after his arrest for driving under the influence.

WHNT is reporting that Austin Hill was arrested Sunday.

He was released on bond six hours later from the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

According to the station, the internal affairs investigation will determine if leave without pay is appropriate.

A disciplinary hearing later will decide Hill’s employment status.
