Alabama announces 2024 dates for Kalen DeBoer’s first A-Day, homecoming

Alabama football announced dates for its A-Day spring game and 2024 homecoming on Tuesday. The A-Day practice, Kalen DeBoer’s first as the Crimson Tide’s head coach, is set for April 13.

The event is Alabama’s 15th and final spring football practice. It will be held, as usual, at Bryant Denny Stadium.

Alabama will announce more information about A-Day at a later date.

Homecoming is set for Alabama’s Oct. 26 matchup with Missouri. It will be the first game between the Tide and the Tigers since 2020, when UA opened its most recent national title season by cruising to a 38-19 win in Columbia.

Since then, head coach Eli Drinkwitz has built the Tigers into a competitive team, which won 11 games including the Cotton Bowl in 2023. Missouri beat Ohio State in that game.

Alabama has won its past 21 homecoming games. Last year, the Crimson Tide had a tough time, but was able to pull out a 24-21 victory over Arkansas at homecoming.

The 2024 season will be the first since 2006 that Saban has not led the Tide for A-Day and the season. He retired on Jan. 10, and was replaced with DeBoer.

The former Washington head coach brought the Huskies to a national championship appearance in 2023.
