Former Ole Miss running back Kentrel Bullock is transferring to South Alabama, he announced Monday.

Bullock, a Columbia, Miss., native, played in 14 games the last three seasons for the Rebels. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

The 5-foot-10, 210-pound Bullock was a 3-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. In his time at Ole Miss, he ran for 89 yards on 19 carries on offense and also totaled three tackles and a forced fumble on special teams.

Bullock is the third SEC transfer in this cycle to announce he’s headed to South Alabama. He joins offensive linemen Reed Buys (Mississippi State) and Jordan Davis (South Carolina) as commitments to the Jaguars.

Bullock will also be the fourth former Ole Miss player to transfer to South Alabama since the end of the 2021 season. Tight end DJ Thomas-Jones, cornerback Jamar Richardson and safety Jalen Jordan all joined the Jaguars’ program prior to last year, and all played major roles for the Jaguars in 2022.

South Alabama is set to return three of its top four running backs for 2023, though starter La’Damian Webb and short-yardage specialist Marco Lee will both be fifth-year seniors next season. The Jaguars also bring back Braylon McReynolds, a freshman in 2022.
