It started out as an April Fool’s Joke. Burt’s Bees and Hidden Valley Ranch collaborated on a gag on April 1, 2022 when they announced a new product: ranch-flavored lip balm.

Fast forward to 2024– the two brands made the joke a reality. On January 17, Burt’s Bees and Hidden Valley Ranch announced the release of a limited-edition 4-pack of Burt’s Bees lip balm with the classic flavors of Hidden Valley Ranch, Buffalo Sauce, Crunchy Celery, and Fresh Carrot, all for $11.99. The companies released the goods just in time for weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, also known as “Wing Season.”

But “just like chicken wings during the shortage of 2021,” reports the Washington Post, the limited-edition beeswax quickly sold out. A day later, customers trying to purchase the “wings in balm form” were put on a waitlist.

The lip balms are still sold out. There’s no word on when they’ll be re-released. But for now, take a look at some of the best responses to the ranch-inspired lip line.
