Florida elementary janitor sentenced to 16 years for possessing child porn at school

A Pensacola man was sentenced to moren than 16 years in a Florida prison after pleading no contest to charges he was uploading child pornography while working as a janitor at an Escambia County, Fla., elementary school.

DeAntonio Dornell Jackson, 37, was sentenced last Thursday after entering his no contest plea in November, according to WEAR in Pensacola.

Jackson was working as a custodian at Beulah Elementary school during the 2021-22 school year when authorities received a tip in January 2022 that files depicting the sexual abuse of two girls, one under the age of 12, one under the age of 8, had been uploaded.

The files all traced back to Jackson, investigators said.

Subsequently, Jackson’s home was searched and his cell phone seized, with forensic analysis uncovering over 200 files of child porn, some of which depicted infants, toddlers and children under the age of 5, according to an arrest report obtained by the television station.

Jackson was arrested on June 1, 2022, and immediately terminated by the Escambia County School District, according to the report.

Jackson admitted to watching adult porn while at the school, but told investigators he had only once opened a file with child porn once by accident.

Jackson was sentenced to 195 months, minus the 538 days he has already spent in custody. Once released, he will spend 10 years on probation and be required to register as a sex offender.
