Kansas City to defend NFL title in Super Bowl LVIII

In the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs will try to become the first team to win consecutive NFL championships since the New England Patriots finished on top in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

Kansas City advanced to Super Bowl LVIII by defeating the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.

The Chiefs led 17-7 at halftime after tight end Travis Kelce had nine receptions for 96 yards and one touchdown in the first half.

In the second half, Kelce had two receptions for 20 yards and Kansas City gained only 69 yards until quarterback Patrick Mahomes connected with wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling for 32 yards on a third-and-9 throw with two minutes left to seal the victory.

The No. 1 seed in the AFC postseason field, Baltimore lost a touchdown when Kansas City cornerback L’Jarius Sneed knocked the football away from Baltimore wide receiver Zay Flowers just before he crossed the goal line on what would have been a 9-yard scoring pass with 14:52 remaining, resulting in a touchback.

Kansas City safety Deon Bush intercepted a throw into the end zone by Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson from the Chiefs 25-yard line with 6:45 to play before Baltimore got a field goal with 2:34 remaining on its final possession

Mahomes completed 30-of-39 passes for 241 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

Jackson completed 20-of-37 passes for 272 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
