Meet the AL.com Super All-State volleyball team

McGill-Toolen dominated state volleyball in 2022.

Class 7A McGill-Toolen (51-8) won its 22nd AHSAA state championship while losing only once to an instate team and winning 26 straight matches to end the season. The Dirty Dozen compiled a 65-6 set record during the run.

Bayside Academy added to its incredible run of 21 straight state titles, moving up to Class 6A this season and downing Spanish Fort in the title match while Class 5A Westminster Christian also moved up in class and won its second straight state championship.

Trinity downed Montgomery Catholic for the 2021 Class 3A championship and both moved up to Class 4A this season with Montgomery Catholic taking the title.

Prattville Christian won its first volleyball title by beating Plainview for the Class 3A championship while Donoho moved up to Class 2A and earned its 13th title, second straight.

Addison dropped to Class 1A this season, dominating the field without dropping a set during eight tournament matches to win its 14th championship, including fourth in five years.

McGill-Toolen placed four players on the team while Bayside and Bob Jones each had three players selected to the Super All-State team, compiled by the AL.com high school sports staff with input from coaches.
