A person was fatally shot early Sunday morning at a Tuscaloosa hookah lounge, according to county law enforcement.

A a police and medical units were on the scene after 1 a.m. Sunday at Cru Lounge at 6571 Alabama 69 S. The Tuscaloosa County Violent Crimes Unit has confirmed one person was shot and killed. The unit is continuing to work the scene.

More details were not immediately available.

The lounge is part of an Atlanta-based chain known for food and beverage as well as hookah service. It also has locations in Huntsville and Birmingham. The Tuscaloosa location opened in 2023.
