Auburn basketball forward Johni Broome’s knee is ‘fine’ after Vanderbilt injury

Auburn leading scorer Johni Broome’s knee is “fine” after picking up an injury late in Wednesday’s 80-65 win against Vanderbilt, head coach Bruce Pearl said during Auburn’s Tiger Talk radio show on Thursday night.

Pearl said that Broome “banged knees” with another player, but practiced fully with the team on Thursday. During his post-game press conference Wednesday, Pearl said he would get word on Broome’s status Thursday. The word has been good.

He exited the game with the injury with just over two minutes to play in the second half.

Broome should be good to go for Auburn’s game Saturday night at home against Ole Miss. The first-team All-SEC preseason pick has been Auburn’s leading scorer this season averaging just over 15 points per game.
