Wind chill advisory affecting Alabama Saturday

On Thursday at 3:31 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind chill advisory valid for Saturday between midnight and 9 a.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Cherokee and St. Clair counties.

The weather service states, “Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 5 below zero.”

“The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken,” describes the weather service. “Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.”
