Wind chill advisory issued for North Alabama for Friday and Saturday

On Thursday at 1:31 p.m. a wind chill advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Friday 10 p.m. until Saturday noon for Lauderdale, Colbert, Franklin, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan and Jackson counties.

The weather service states, “Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 4 to 8 below zero.”

“Difficult travel conditions are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken,” describes the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves.”
