This week’s girls high school basketball schedule was thrown into turmoil by the snow and ice storm, but one team made a move into the Power 5 with a narrow loss and a big win last week.

James Clemens, coached by Monica Maxwell, is the new No. 5 team on our list. The Jets had won eight straight games before losing on Friday at Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 7A No. 1 Bob Jones on a last-second bucket, 32-31.

James Clemens rebounded from the loss to beat Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa the next day, 48-27, to improve to 15-7 on the season.
