Development in Baldwin County—the second fastest-growing in Alabama and home to some of the state’s fastest-growing cities—has strained the infrastructure in the once-rural county. Residents frequently complain about new subdivisions and residential developments in or around their neighborhoods.

On the commercial side, demand for industrial and commercial real estate is also high, Jay Roberds, principal at CRE Mobile, a commercial real estate broker, says. There’s a shortage of industrial real estate in Mobile and Baldwin County, he says, to meet the demand caused in part by the growing population.
