NHLâs Dallas Stars clarifies with hilarious post which DeBoer Alabama hired
As Alabama announced the hiring of Washington’s Kalen DeBoer on Friday, the Dallas Stars seized an opportunity to jump on the social media buzz surrounding the DeBoer name.
The NHL franchise hilarious post to social media on the news.
“We know everyone has been asking,” the post started. “Head coach Pete DeBoer is still the head coach of the Dallas Stars. Pete DeBoer is NOT leaving to become the head coach of the University of Alabama football program.”
Peter DeBoer, 55, is, of course, the head coach for the Stars and played for the Maple Leafs.
Meanwhile, Kalen DeBoer just led the Washington Huskies to the College Football Playoff national championship game against Michigan this month. On Friday, he was named the Alabama coach just two days after Nick Saban retired.
Kalen DeBoer said in a statement that he would not have left Washington for just any school.
Saban won six national titles with the Crimson Tide and seven overall. Kalen DeBoer went 25-3 in two seasons at Washington and has a career record of 104-12 at all levels of college football.
