Teen arrested in shots fired incident at Shoppes at Bel Air mall in Mobile

A teenage suspect has been arrested in connection with the gunfire that erupted Thursday night at the Shoppes at Bel Air mall in Mobile, police said Friday.

Jaquentin Brantley, 18, was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with three counts of shooting into an occupied building, said Mobile police Cpl. Katrina Frazier.

Mobile officers responded to a report of shots fired in the center interior of the mall around 5:30 p.m., said Frazier.

Two gunmen, only identified as males, knew each other and were arguing when they began exchanging shots, she said.

No injuries were reported, police said, and both gunmen fled the scene before police arrived.
