Man wearing medical mask holds up credit union in Sylacauga, police say
A man wearing a medical mask robbed a credit union Friday morning in Sylacauga, police said.
Sylacauga police responded to a call of a bank robbery at the Highway 280 branch of Heritage South Federal Credit Union, said Chief Kelley B. Johnson.
The person who reported the robbery said an unknown white male entered the credit union wearing a medical mask before passing a note to a teller demanding money.
The robber left the credit union with an unknown amount of cash, police said.
Authorities have not identified any suspects and do not have a description of the vehicle used in the robbery.
Sylacauga police and agents with the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force are working on the case, Johnson said.
The FBI has also been notified of the robbery and is helping with the investigation.
Anyone with information on the robbery was asked to call Sylacauga police Sgt. Chris Vinson at 256-401-2453.
