Alabama under a wind advisory Friday

On Thursday at 1:05 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory valid for Friday between 4 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Clay, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Marengo, Dallas and Autauga counties.

The weather service states, “South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.”

“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Trees and large limbs could be blown down and power outages may occur,” comments the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.”
