Kristen Saban Setas took to social media Wednesday to pay tribute to her legendary father’s tenure as head football coach at the University of Alabama, calling Nick Saban’s reported retirement a “bittersweet moment.”

Setas shared a photo of herself wiping away tears with the caption “bittersweet moment” on her Instagram story.

The next pic was a black-and-white photo of Nick Saban, one hand placed on his iconic straw UA hat as if he was about to tip his cap.

Setas has been one of her father’s biggest fans and routinely takes to social media to stick up for him and the Alabama team when they are criticized.

Saban’s retirement ends arguably the greatest run in college football history where the once famously-nomadic Saban finally planted roots and rebuilt a decaying empire. A 27-20 overtime loss to Michigan in the Rose Bowl semifinal was ultimately Saban’s final act as a college football coach, just over a week before handing the task of replacing him to athletics director Greg Byrne.
