Alabama father charged with murder in 4-month-old son’s shaken death

An Alabama father was charged with murder this week in the death of his 4-month-old son, whom authorities said died after being shaken on Christmas Eve.

Adam Foster-Cleve Williamson, 34, remained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $200,000 bond as of Friday night after being jailed there Tuesday on a murder charge, jail records showed.

Williamson’s 4-month-old son died of brain injuries days after Attalla medics on Christmas Eve responded to a call of a child having trouble breathing, Attalla Police Chief Dennis Walker told the Gadsden Times.

The boy was first taken to Riverview Regional Medical Center and then Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham. Doctors at Children’s determined the infant’s injuries were due to being shaken, the paper reported.

Attalla police arrested Williamson after an investigation that included an autopsy and information from doctors.

The chief told the Times the state Department of Human Resources are continuing to investigate.

There were no signs that the infant or the boy’s siblings had previously been abused, he said.
