Prepare for snow in Jackson and DeKalb counties until early Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 7:54 p.m. on Tuesday for snow until Wednesday at midnight for Jackson and DeKalb counties.

“Light sleet or snow will continue to impact portions of southern middle Tennessee into northeast Alabama through the evening hours, especially in the higher elevations. This light wintry precipitation may result in light accumulation on grassy surfaces and elevated objects. Widespread travel problems are not anticipated. However, use caution when traveling on elevated roadways, bridges, and overpasses. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, or a favorite local media outlet, for further statements or updates from the National Weather Service in Huntsville,” states the weather service.
