Former Alabama DL Isaiah Hastings commits to Missouri football
Isaiah Hastings will be staying within the Southeastern Conference. The former Alabama defensive lineman announced his transfer to Missouri on Tuesday.
Hastings was one of the first players to opt for the transfer portal this cycle, entering his name on Dec. 7, 2023. Hastings has three years of eligibility remaining, appearing in one game in 2022 and recording his lone tackle against Louisiana-Monroe.
Hastings was a three-star from Clearwater (Florida) Academy International and a native of Toronto, Canada. He was one of three defensive linemen to transfer out of Tuscaloosa, joining Monkell Goodwine (South Carolina) and Anquin Barnes (Colorado).
The Tide is welcoming in former five-star LT Overton from Texas A&M for defensive line depth. UA will also have Jaheim Oatis, Tim Smith, James Smith, Damon Payne and Jah-Marien Latham as defensive line options.
Missouri went 11-2 this fall, including a 6-2 run in the SEC. A surging Eli Drinkwitz pushed the Tigers to the Cotton Bowl, where it beat Ohio State 14-3. Missouri, like Alabama, currently is without a defensive coordinator. UA’s Kevin Steele is reportedly set to retire while Blake Baker left Missouri for LSU.
Missouri and Hastings will travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium on Oct. 26 next fall.
