Wind advisory for Southeast Alabama until Tuesday night

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until 11 p.m. for Coffee, Dale, Henry, Geneva and Houston counties.

“West winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph,” states the weather service. “A brief lull in winds is expected late this afternoon before increasing again early this evening. While winds will not be as strong as earlier today, even gusts around 30 mph will have the potential to bring down weakened tree limbs from earlier, possibly leading to additional power outages.”

“Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” explains the weather service. “Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects, including temporary roof tarps.”
