Basketball roundup: Huntsville tops Grissom in front of record crowd

The top-ranked Class 7A Huntsville boys ran their season record to 21-1 and their home winning streak to 28 straight with a 60-51 win over rival Grissom on Friday in front of the Panthers’ largest home crowd ever, according to school officials. A sellout crowd of 2,347 packed the Huntsville High gym for the contest.

Grissom’s TJ Cole, a Huntsville transfer, nailed five 3-pointers for the Tigers on the way to a game-high 20 points.

Huntsville led 14-12 after one quarter and 25-20 at the half. The Panthers led by as many as 10 in the third period and took a 43-36 lead into the final quarter. Huntsville held an 11-point margin at one point in the fourth.

The Panthers blocked 7 shots on the night and held Grissom to 36 percent shooting on 2-point attempts. Huntsville outrebounded the visitors 31-19 and claimed 14 offensive boards.

Caleb Harrison led Huntsville with 19 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocked shots. Brayden Rivers scored 11 points and had 4 rebounds. Point guard Eli Stapler scored all 10 of his points in the second half and had 5 assists. Simon Walker scored 8 in the win and 6-foot-9 junior Josh Bowman came off the bench to grab 5 rebounds and block 3 shots to go with his 7 points.

Justin McCall scored 12 points for Grissom (12-11, 2-1) and Javon Alexander added 10 points.

HUNTSVILLE/TENNESSEE VALLEY

Westminster Christian 50, West Morgan 48

Isaiah Shingleton hit a follow-up bucket as time expired to compete an 8-0 run over the final 3:32 of the game to lift Westminster Christian to the road win on Saturday. The Wildcats trailed 48-46 with 24 seconds remaining when Shingleton intercepted a pass and took it the length of the court to knot the score.

West Morgan missed a 3-point attempt with 12 seconds left, Mason Morris rebounded, passed to Kendall Epps who drove to the bucket, but missed setting up Shingleton’s put-back game-winner. Shingleton finished with 8 points, all in the fourth quarter.

Westminster trailed 33-25 at the half and 40-33 headed into the final period. The Wildcats forced 11 turnovers and held the Rebels to 6-for-17 shooting in the second half.

Maks Leatherwood led Westminster with 14 points. Morris had 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win.

Senior Joseph Garland led West Morgan (6-9) with 17 points – 12 in the first half.

“I’m proud of how hard the guys fought,” Westminster Christian head coach Ken Epps said. “We don’t have top 100 kids like last year, so it’s always going to take a total team effort, on both ends, for us to have the opportunity to win.”

The Falcons improved to 4-0 in Class 4A, Area 15 with the home win over Westminster Christian on Friday.

Mark Andrzejewski and Tyler Greges scored 12 points apiece to lead SJP2.

Decatur Heritage 68, West End 28

The Eagles rolled to the road win at West End-Walnut Grove on Friday, outscoring the Patriots 21-8 after one quarter and 40-16 at the half.

Brady Wilson led Decatur Heritage with 25 points. He also had 5 rebounds. Nash Thomas scored 10 points for the Eagles with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Paxton Tarver grabbed 7 rebounds and had 8 assists.

Hartselle 52, Cullman 50

The Tigers picked up the Class 4A, Area 14 home win on Friday. After a 23-all halftime score, Hartselle pulled to a 36-32 margin headed into the final quarter and held off Cullman’s comeback bid to get the win.

Ty Odom led Hartselle with 14 points, scoring 8 in the second half. Rylan Smothers tossed in 13 points and Markus Tapscott finished with 10.

Evan Wilson led Cullman with 17 points, 11 in the second half. Sam Duskin scored 10 with a pair of 3-pointers.

Florence 76, DeSoto Central (Miss.) 65

Bryant James scored 20 points and Jayshod Pearson scored 16 as Florence topped DeSoto Central of Southaven, Miss., on Saturday in the Grind2Shine Classic.

Julian King and Alleick Shipley scored 10 points apiece for the Falcons (12-7).

On Friday, Florence hit a season-best 14 3-point buckets on the way to a 94-59 win at Deshler. James led the Falcons with 21 points. Shipley scored 18, Pearson scored 15 and King added 10.

Aiden Woody led Deshler (12-10) with 16 points and Khalil Bland had 15.

Florence opens Class 7A, Area 8 play at home on Tuesday against Bob Jones.

BIRMINGHAM

Hoover 74, Thompson 51

The second-ranked Class 7A Bucs opened Area 5 play with the win at home on Friday over No. 6 Thompson. Hoover is 18-2 on the year while Thompson dropped to 14-6.

DeWayne Brown led Hoover with 24 points. He also had 7 rebounds. Salim London scored 14 points and had 4 assists. Jarett Fairley scored 13 with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Jackson Sheffield grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 9 points.

Hoover travels to rival Vestavia Hills on Tuesday.

Midfield 83, Indian Springs 61

The Patriots rolled to a Class 3A, Area 9 win over Indian Springs at home on Friday.

Brandon Riddle poured in 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for second-ranked Midfield. He also had 3 steals. Aaron Adams-Martin scored 15 points for the Patriots with 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Armonie Franklin scored 11 and had 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals in the win.

Clay-Chalkville 59, Pinson Valley 45

Class 7A Clay-Chalkville improved to 15-7 on the year with the home win on Friday over Class 6A No. 4 Pinson Valley.

Colin Owens led the Cougars with 13 points and 4 assists. Devon McKinnon finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds and KJ Kirk had 11 points with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Victor Odiari claimed 9 rebounds in the win.

The Cougars had picked up a 33-32 home win over 6A No. 2 Mountain Brook on Tuesday.

Helena 60, Calera 32

Helena improved to 16-4 on the year with the home win over Calera on Friday.

Ian Johnigan led Helena with 15 points. He also had 4 rebounds and a pair of assists. Joseph King scored 12 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and had 2 assists and 2 steals. Nate Ferguson finished with 13 points 3 rebounds and 3 assists.

Hewitt-Trussville 43, Chelsea 42

Hewitt-Trussville improved to 15-6 with the Class 7A, Area 6 road win on Friday.

Reid Stodghill led the Huskies with 15 points and 7 rebounds.

Gavin Collett led Chelsea with 22 points. He also had 3 assists. Avery Futch scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds for the Hornets (9-14).

Minor 56, Mortimer Jordan 49

The Tigers picked up the road win on Friday, with Isaiah McClain notching a double-double. McClain scored 19 points with 10 rebounds. He also had 4 assists.

Jaylen Chatman and Matthew Grice scored 16 points apiece for Minor. Chatman also claimed 7 rebounds.

MOBILE/COASTAL ALABAMA

McGill-Toolen 67, Robertsdale 38

Ethan Stokes scored 11 of McGill-Toolen’s first 15 points on the way to a game-high 25 as the Yellow Jackets whipped Robertsdale on the road on Friday. Stokes, who had 19 points in the first half, also claimed 11 rebounds in the Class 6A, Area 2 win.

Jack Murphy scored 12 of his 20 points in the third quarter as McGill-Toolen carried a 56-34 advantage into the final period. Barry Dumont hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for the Yellow Jackets (14-5, 1-0), who shot 45 percent from the floor on the night.

Gabe Stevens led Robertsdale with 16 points.

Vigor 93, Faith Academy 59

Jermaine Tate had 21 points as Vigor capped a big week with a Class 5A, Area 1 win.

Terrell Johnson followed with 20 points while Keke Malone and Pete Jones had 12 points each.

The Wolves improved to 15-5 overall. They also defeated Murphy and Citronelle earlier in the week after winning their bracket in the Gulf Coast Holiday Classic.

Theodore 85, Murphy 74 (2OT)

Houston Cunningham scored 26 points as the Bobcats improved to 11-10 overall and moved to 2-0 in Class 6A, Area 1 play.

JJ Bush added 20, Michael Myles 12 and Terrance Parker 11 for Theodore, which travels to Blount on Tuesday.

Bryan Jackson scored 21 for Murphy. Cordairus Dixon added 15 and DJ Johnson had 14.

Williamson 64, Gulf Shores 51

Corien Coleman had 26 points, 3 assists and 3 steals as the Lions improved to 14-4 overall and 1-0 in 5A, Area 1 play.

Johnathan Johnson followed with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Jackson 70, Leroy 30

Micah Caster had 19 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds for Jackson.

Keeyun Chapman followed with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Landon Duckworth had 12 points and 3 rebounds.

William Taylor had 8 points and 5 assists for Jackson (12-2).

Cottage Hill 73, Mobile Christian 66

Clay Scofield scored 40 points to go with 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks as Cottage Hill won a Class 3A, Area 1 game on the road.

Shadrick Toodle had 13 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, a block and a steal for the Warriors, while Kaden Nguyen had 8 pts and 10 rebounds.

Cottage Hill (13-6, 1-0) plays at Class 7A Fairhope on Tuesday.

UMS-Wright 50, Bayside Academy 42

In a game with a combined 53 free throws, UMS held off Bayside Academy to open Class 4A, Area 1 play.

The Bulldogs (8-11, 1-0) held the Admirals to two made field goals combined in the second and third quarters.

Jack Church scored 16 points on four made 3-pointers for the Bulldogs. Sims Druhan added 15 and Matthew McPhillips followed with 8. Jack Blackerby had 8 assists.

Bayside was led by Finn Nebrig with 13 points and Miles Uter with 11.

UMS travels to Orange Beach on Tuesday.

Baker 59, Davidson 43

Derrick Florence scored 19 points and Lovalle Nelson Jr. added 13 as the Hornets opened 7A, Area 1 play with a victory.

Baker improved to 14-6 overall.

Chickasaw 60, St. Luke’s 55

Sydrus Gilmore scored 25 points as the Chieftains improved to 12-5 overall.

Ja’Von Mose followed with 12 points, while Jamarion Osborne chipped in 9 and Marvin Brooks 8.

Chickasaw will host Washington County on Tuesday.

Georgiana 80, McKenzie 43

Three Georgiana players registered double-double performances in the Class 1A, Area 3 road win on Friday.

Kaveon Miles scored 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had 7 assists and 3 steals for the winners.

Nasir Cheatham scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds and Jaden Stallworth scored 11 points and hauled in 10 rebounds. Marques Payton also scored 13 points for third-ranked Georgiana (12-2, 2-0).

Brantley 67, Goshen 45

Jayden Parks poured in 32 points to lead the Bulldogs (8-5) to the home win over Goshen on Friday. Parks finished with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals on the night.

Dylan Davis had a double-double in the win, scoring 16 points and claiming 15 rebounds.

Alabama Christian 44, Prattville Christian 29

The Eagles dropped Prattville Christian to 9-11 on the year with the road win on Saturday.

PJ Evans led PCA with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Collier Connell also scored 9 points in the loss. Lathan Rybarczyk grabbed 9 rebounds for the Panthers.

Prattville Christian 54, Montgomery Catholic 47

Cade Segars surpassed the 1,000-point mark in his career with the Panthers in the win at home over Montgomery Catholic on Friday. Segars scored 17 in the win.

PJ Evans led Prattville Christian with 24 points. He also had 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Collier Connell scored 11 with 4 rebounds and Justin Chapman claimed 8 rebounds.

Montgomery Academy 56, Trinity 52

Third-ranked Montgomery Academy picked up a win in its first Class 3A, Area 6 game on the road on Friday, holding off Trinity in a tense fourth quarter.

The Eagles led 19-9 in the second period and 31-25 at the half.

Skyler Stovall led Montgomery Academy with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists. Jarrett Friendly had 7 rebounds and a pair of steals to go with 7 points. DJ Vinson had 11 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Brewer Welch had 6 assists in the win.

Montgomery Academy (13-6) will host Providence Christian on Tuesday before returning to area play Friday at St. James.

Central-Tuscaloosa 48, Francis Marion 45

The Falcons earned the road win on Friday with Javion Taylor leading the way with 18 points and 7 rebounds.

Thaddeus Long scored 10 points and had 4 steals for Central.

Tayshun Essex scored 23 points for Francis Marion. Malachi Martin added 12 for the Rams.

Evangel Christian 50, Lakeside 48

Andre Stoddard hit a 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining to tie the game for Evangel Christian at 48-all before Tylon Shine hit a free throw and Jordan Duncan sank a floater in the lane to give the Montgomery squad the lead for good with 16 seconds left.

Shine led the winners with 14 points. Stoddard and Duncan finished with 9 points apiece. Desi Stovall grabbed 12 rebounds for the Lions (7-7).

Kaleb Moore led Lakeside with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Rhodes Bennett scored 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. JD Hill scored 9 points, with 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals.

Evangel Christian travels to Autauga Academy on Monday.

Macon East 30, Lakeside 23

Macon East earned the home win on Saturday.

Rhodes Bennett led Lakeside with 9 points, 6 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Kalen Moore and JJ Hill had 6 rebounds each, as did Jamez Curry, who also had 6 assists.

Valiant Cross 71, Success Unlimited 52

Jordan Archie scored 27 points and finished with 8 assists as Valiant Cross picked up the win on Friday.

Deshawn Hall scored 21 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had 4 blocked shots in the win.

The Warriors improved to 13-3.

GIRLS

HUNTSVILLE/TENNESSEE VALLEY

John Curtis Christian 45, Sparkman 35

Second-ranked Class 7A Sparkman fell to John Curtis Christian of River Ridge, La., in the semifinals of the Platinum Bracket of the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic in Westwego, La., on Saturday.

The Patriots improved to 12-3 on the year while Sparkman dropped to 14-7.

All-tournament selection Jamya Griffin scored 16 to lead the Senators. The senior standout also was awarded the Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic Dave Michel Scholarship, which is awarded to one girl and one boy exemplary student-athlete participating in the event. The $1,000 award will go directly to the bursar’s office of the college of Griffin’s choice.

Sparkman will travel to Huntsville on Friday to open Area 8 play.

On Friday, Sparkman whipped Parrish Community, Fla., 70-21 in the second round of the tournament.

Sophomores Carmin Rice and Khloe Bradley led Sparkman with 12 points each. Freshman Madyson Beasley added 10 points in the win.

Mary Portwood led Parrish Community with 12 points.

Lee-Huntsville 85, San Jose Prep (Fla.) 66

The Generals won their second game in the She Got Game Classic in Atlanta on Saturday, knocking off San Jose Prep, Fla.

Lee led 24-18 after one quarter, 45-34 at the half and 69-54 headed into the final period.

Senior guard Limaya Batimba notched a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds – her 19th in 21 games. She also had 5 steals and 3 blocked shots. Jayla Turner led all scorers with 24 points. She also had 6 assists. Khaleyah Jones scored 19 and London Harris had 10 points and 4 steals.

On Friday, Lee rolled past Munroe, Fla., 58-22. The Generals jumped to a 14-6 first-quarter lead and outscored the Bobcats 23-3 in the second. A 14-2 third quarter lifted Lee to a 51-11 lead headed into the final period.

Batimba notched a double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Khaleyah Jones scored 13 in the win.

Hazel Green 50, McEachern (Ga.) 40

The top-ranked Class 6A Trojans picked up the win over McEachern of Powder Springs, Ga., in the She Got Game Classic on Friday in Atlanta. Hazel Green trailed 11-8 after one quarter and 20-18 at the half. The Trojans scored 16 points in both the third and fourth periods while holding McEachern to 11 and 9.

Leah Brooks recorded a double-double for Hazel Green with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kristen Johnson scored 12 points with three 3-pointers. Amiya Redus scored 9 points and Sydney Steward scored 8 with 7 rebounds and 4 assists.

Kalise Hill led McEachern with 14 points. Amanda Ezita scored 11 in the loss.

Bob Jones 58, Mae Jemison 37

The top-ranked Class 7A Patriots rolled to the home win on Friday to run their record to 18-3. Mae Jemison dropped to 3-7.

Sloan Williams led Bob Jones with 14 points. Alana Obianozie and Zamyra Goode added 8 each in the win.

Clements 46, Priceville 42 (OT)

The Class 3A Colts slipped by 4A Priceville at home on Saturday to pick up the win. Taylor Farrar led Clements with 17 points.

Abby Langlois led Priceville (12-9) with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Lillyan Bloodworth scored 8 points with 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Gracin Prater had 7 points and 4 steals.

Priceville 48, West Morgan 29

The Bulldogs improved to 12-8 with the Class 4A, Area 13 win on the road on Friday. Priceville led 12-4 after one quarter and 23-9 at halftime. The visitors were up 34-21 headed into the final quarter.

Abby Langlois scored 18 points and had 8 rebounds with 5 steals and an assist for Priceville. Gracin Prater scored 9 points and had 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the win.

Jordan Free led West Morgan with 12 points.

Westminster Christian 38, West Morgan 38 (OT)

The Wildcats outscored West Morgan 7-3 in the extra period to earn the road win on Saturday. Westminster Christian forced 20 turnovers and held the Rebels to 29 percent shooting from the floor.

Junior Ella Anderson led Westminster (3-10) with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Carleigh Lewis, an eighth grader, scored 10 points and had 3 steals. She also hit a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime.

Jordyn Free scored 17 points, with four 3-pointers, to lead West Morgann (9-8).

The Falcons picked up the home win on Friday, beating Class 4A, Area 15 foe Westminster Christian.

Rhyan Holloway led St. John Paul II with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Elizabeth Rohling scored 10 points and had 3 rebounds in the win. Kyley Johnson grabbed 11 rebounds.

SJP2 is 3-1 in area play.

Sand Rock 77, Collinsville 12

Seventh-ranked Class 3A Sand Rock rolled to the Area 12 win over Collinsville on Friday. The Wildcats improved to 13-6 on the season.

Chloe Stephens led the winners with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Molly Grace lay scored 17 points to go with 5 steals and 4 assists. Zoey Handy scored 12 points and claimed 9 rebounds with 4 steals.

Phil Campbell 44, Danville 43

Phil Campbell picked up the narrow Class 3A, Area 15 win at home on Friday.

Adily Alberti led Danville with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Maddie Sherrill had 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Fairhope 52, Mary G. Montgomery 47

The Tigers slipped past Mary G. Montgomery in a home game on Friday.

Cooper Anderson led Fairhope with 17 points, including a 5-for-9 performance from behind the 3-point arc. Ella Byrd scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

The Pirates will host Cottage Hill on Tuesday.

Alma Bryant 54, B.C. Rain 34

Mari-Margret Grayson led all scores with 27 points and Madi-Marie Grayson followed with 17 as Alma Bryant improved to 13-6 overall.

The Hurricanes open Area 1 play Tuesday night at Baker.

Tyra Caves had 19 points and 4 rebounds in the Aggies’ win.

Jazmine Jones followed with 11 points.

The Aggies improved to 15-2 overall.

Gulf Shores 43, Williamson 8

The Dolphins outscored the Lions 15-2 in the first quarter on the way to the win.

They improved to 17-5 overall and started area play 1-0.

Nine different Gulf Shores players scored.

The Dolphins host B.C. Rain on Tuesday.

B.T. Washington (Fla.) 44, Daphne 37

B.T. Washington used a 13-1 third-quarter run to overtake Daphne on Friday night after the Trojans had opened the game with a 20-5 first quarter.

Kiera Watson led Daphne (15-3) with 10 points.

The Trojans host Foley on Tuesday.

UMS-Wright 62, Bayside Academy 34

UMS-Wright used a 17-2 second-quarter run to pull away from visiting Bayside.

Noel Freeman led the way with 11 points, while Ansleigh Ishee and Katharine Goodloe had 10 each. Goodloe was 3-for-3 from 3-point range.

Misty Smith led Bayside with 17.

UMS (15-6) travels to Orange Beach on Tuesday.

Orange Beach 54, St. Michael 22

The Makos hit 12 3-pointers and held St. Michael to 10 second-half points.

Bryce Collins led the way with 14 for Orange Beach. Ariana Green followed with 11 and Stephanie Woodall had 10.

Hoover 44, Hancock (Miss.) 41

Hoover handed Hancock of Kiln, Miss., its first loss of the season in the Tangle on the Trail at Pontotoc (Miss.) High School on Saturday. Hoover, ranked fifth in Class 7A, improved to 14-4 while Hancock is 17-1.

The Bucs jumped to a 17-10 first-quarter lead and carried a 27-19 advantage into halftime. The Hawks cut the lead to 35-32 headed into the final period.

Khloe Ford and Kaitlyn Gipson led the Bucs with 11 points each.

Hoover 55, Thompson 22

The Bucs opened Area 5 play with the home win on Friday. Hoover led 19-1 after one quarter and 38-16 at the half.

Khloe Ford scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Hoover. Kamryn Lee had 11 points 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in the win.

Huffman 60, Oxford 45

The sixth-ranked Class 6A Vikings picked up the win over Oxford at home in a 256 vs. 205 Challenge game on Saturday. Jamiria Jones and Tamiria Jones scored 21 points each to lead Huffman. Breonna Robbins scored 9 in the win.

On Friday, Huffman rolled past Gardendale 64-17 to improve to 16-5 on the season and earn a win in its first Area 11 game.

Union Grove (Ga.) 65, Pleasant Grove 62

The Spartans fell in a She’s Got Game contest at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Ga., on Saturday. Top-ranked Class 5A Pleasant Grove fell to 13-7 on the year. Tamya Smith poured in 32 points and claimed 11 rebounds in the loss.

On Friday, Pleasant Grove beat Fairfield 65-32 in a home Area 9 game. Smith had another double-double with 35 points and 10 rebounds. Kylar Lassiter scored 12 points and Keyerria Stokes also had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Midfield 61, Bessemer City 26

Seventh-ranked Class 3A Midfield rolled past Bessemer City on the road on Saturday. Midfield had three players finish in double-figure scoring.

Kamiya Webb led the Patriots with 18 points and 16 rebounds. She also had 5 blocked shots. Zephaniah Parks scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Lauren Stokes scored 13 points and had 7 rebounds. Jazmin Johnson had 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the win.

Midfield (8-9) will play an Area 9 game at No. 10 Childersburg on Thursday.

Mill Creek (Ga.) 45, Hewitt-Trussville 44

Seventh-ranked Class 7A Hewitt-Trussville had a last-second shot go awry on Saturday in a She Got Game Classic game at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Ga.

Auburn University signee Jordan Hunter led Hewitt with 25 points.

On Friday, Hewitt-Trussville opened Area 6 play with a 44-38 win at No. 3 Chelsea. Hunter scored 14 points to lead the Huskies. Ryleigh Martin went 3-for-6 on 3-point attempts to finish with 9 points.

Parker 58, Pinson Valley 40

The Thundering Herd improved to 13-4 with the win on Thursday.

The fourth-ranked Class 7A Rebels rolled to 19-3 with the Area 5 road win on Friday.

Sarah Gordon notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Vestavia. Jill Gaylard finished with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Briarwood Christian 46, Pelham 39

The Lions beat Pelham in a Class 6A, Area 8 game at home on Friday.

Ann Tatum Baker led the winners with 19 points. She also had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Emma Kerley scored 13 points for Briarwood with 8 rebounds. Mary Beth Dicen had 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Center Point 34, Fultondale 26

The Eagles beat Fultondale on the road on Friday, with senior guard Brijourne Williams leading the winners with 12 points, 8 steals and 5 rebounds. Freshman Sa’Naiya Thomas scored 11 points and had 7 steals.

Center Point is 3-11 on the year.

Mortimer Jordan 46, Minor 42

Third-ranked Class 6A Mortimer Jordan slipped past Minor at home on Friday.

Keyarra Scottland scored 18 for the Blue Devils (16-2) and Kendra Davis added 12.

Altamont 27, Westminster-Oak Mountain 18

Abbey Sellers led Altamont with 13 points in the win on Saturday in a road Class 2A, Area 8 game. Sellers also had 7 rebounds and 7 steals.

Altamont improved to 9-5 on the season.

Ramsay 46, Jacksonville 42

Ramsay improved to 11-8 on the season with the home win over Jacksonville on Saturday.

Nayla Wesley led the Rams with 15 points. Kayden May and Kaitlyn Jackson scored 8 points each in the win.

STATEWIDE

Prattville Christian 76, Alabama Christian 18

Kayden Carr scored a career-high 32 points to lead Class 4A No. 1 Prattville Christian to the rout of Montgomery rival Alabama Christian in the Saturday home game. Carr also had 5 steals, 4 assists and 4 rebounds for the Panthers.

Avery Rogers scored 18 points with 7 assists and 6 rebounds for PCA. Jenna McClendon notched a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Leah Cate Wilson grabbed 10 rebounds and Ally Blankinchip had 6 assists.

Prattville Christian improved to 15-4 and will travel to Booker T. Washington Magnet for its first Area 5 game of the season.

On Friday, the Panthers whipped Montgomery Catholic 58-23 at home.

Carr led Prattville Christian with 18 points. McClendon had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Rogers scored 15 points with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Blankinchip had 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Leah Cate Wilson grabbed 8 rebounds in the win.

Georgiana 66, McKenzie 28

Junior guard Lillie Boggan scored 23 points to push her career total at Georgiana to more than 1,000 points in the Class 1A, Area 3 win on Friday. Boggan also finished with 11 rebounds, 6 steals and 6 assists.

Nyeashia Thomas also had a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds. She also blocked 4 shots.

Brantley 47, Goshen 19

The Bulldogs ran their record to 7-4 with the home win over Goshen on Friday.

Alex Grimes scored 18 points and claimed 6 rebounds with 4 steals for Brantley. Ann Parker Little added 10 points with 4 assists. Coco Stamps scored 10 points and had 5 steals for the winners.

Macon East 41, Lakeside 38

Lakeside of Eufaula fell on Saturday in Cecil to Macon East.

Chloe Helms led Lakeside with 17 points. Adysen Eriksen had 6 blocked shots, 5 rebounds and 3 steals for the Chiefs (7-10).

On Friday, Lakeside beat Evangel Christian 52-31. Addy Helms scored 15 points to lead the Chiefs. Erickson claimed 8 rebounds and Dylin White finished with 6 in the win.
