Auburn NFL roundup: Darius Slayton cashes in for Giants

Wide receiver Darius Slayton not only helped the New York Giants close their 2023 season with a 27-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, he picked up some extra cash doing.

Slayton caught five passes for 62 yards and one touchdown against Philadelphia. Slayton scored on a 19-yard pass from quarterback Tyrod Taylor as the Giants took a 24-0 lead with 1:47 left in the first half.

The performance boosted Slayton’s totals for the season to 50 receptions for 770 yards and four touchdowns as he led New York in receiving yards for the fourth time in five seasons.

Slayton’s contract included incentive clauses that paid him an extra $100,000 if he reached 50 receptions and another $100,000 if he finished with 750 to 847 receiving yards. His roster bonus for next year is supposed to increase by the amount of his incentive earned, so Slayton is now in line for a $2.6 million roster bonus if he’s with the Giants on the fifth day of the NFL’s 2024 business year.

Slayton was among the 18 former Auburn players who got on the field on the final Sunday of the NFL’s 104th season.

One other former Auburn player was involved in the Philadelphia-New York game:
