Birmingham’s Scooby Williams transferring to SEC school
Former Florida outside linebacker Jeremiah “Scooby” Williams is transferring to Texas A&M, he announced late Saturday.
Williams, a former Ramsay High School star, totaled 53 tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a sack in 12 games for the Gators in 2023. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
A four-star recruit in the 2021 signing class, Williams (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) appeared heading to Auburn before committing to Florida in an AL.com video just before signing day. He was named Class 5A Lineman of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association as a senior at Ramsay in 2020.
