4-star RB Daniel Hill becomes latest addition to Alabama’s 2024 class
Alabama football added a Southeastern Conference legacy to its class of 2024. Daniel Hill, a four-star running back, committed to UA during the All-American Bowl.
Hill, whose father Demetrius played at Mississippi State, is from Meridian, Miss., and is the No. 15 running back in the 247Sports Composite. Hill has visited Tuscaloosa multiple times and had been predicted to pick the Tide since November. His reveal comes with UA’s 2024 running back group shifting following a Rose Bowl loss.
Senior Roydell Williams will transfer. Leading rusher Jase McClellan could opt for the NFL Draft. Underclassmen Jam Miller and Justice Haynes earned more carries as the season progressed, partially due to injury. Haynes and former blue-chip Richard Young joined Alabama in the class of 2023. The year before that, Nick Saban brought in Miller, four-star athlete Emmanuel Henderson and transfer Jahmyr Gibbs.
Hill ran for 23 touchdowns this fall and caught three others. He also recorded two passing touchdowns at Meridian. He considered South Carolina and Tennessee among his finalists. UA also brought in Tuscaloosa County running back Kevin Riley.
Wrote 247Sports national recruiting analyst Cooper Petagna: “Position versatile piece with a dense frame that can be deployed in a variety of ways on offense. Projects to the RB position at the next level with the ability to be flexed out in the passing game. Jumbo athlete with a unique offensive skill set. Has the ability to see the field early at the next level.”
Alabama’s class is ranked second behind Georgia. The Tide tied LSU with the third-most four-stars in the country (19).
