A suspect is in custody in the shooting death of a 59-year-old man in Montgomery.

Samuel Darrell Robinson, 46, is charged with capital murder in the Dec. 29 slaying of David Pitts.

Montgomery police said officers were notified about 8 p.m. that Friday that Pitts had shown up at the hospital with a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators learned the shooting happened in the 4000 block of Cresta Circle.

No additional details have been released.

Robinson was taken into custody Friday but the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force. He is being held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
